Going on a jet plane tonight after the Blazer’s season opener. I’ll be taking a red eye to Orlando to spend some time at Disney World with my wife for the rest of the week. Should be a lot of fun! I might even consider posting some pictures when I get back and getting back into the posting routine for all my adoring fans. Yeah, I know who you are.

Well, I went back to the doctor after my latest MRI, approximately 1 year after the actual injury… and about 5 months since the surgery. It still has a “crater” in it from a deep bone bruise that died and has not healed on its own yet. They gave me a cortisone shot that is suppose to help it heal on its own and I’m going back to see the dr in 6 weeks. The cortisone shot may end up doing nothing for me and if that is the case then I will need to get it scoped again. This is turning out to be quite the injury process. Also, it delays my bid for walking on to the Trailblazers and becoming an all-star.
For the MORE! part of the update I just wanted to let you all know that I am back on track and studying for the CPA exam again. For those of you who have forgotten, I’ve taken one section of the four and passed it. I’m planning on taking one exam in February and then one in April and May. Pass rate for passing all four the first try is 20%. I’m shooting to be that one in five type of guy.

Yep. I’m still alive. Anyone still checking this blog?
Quick update on my ankle…as a comment asked about it a few months back… I’m having another MRI on Friday for it. I still have some pain in it and they hope to determine if there is still something wrong with it or if I just have arthritis as a 26 yr old. Boy, that would suck.
Otherwise, life is good!
PS. Hawaii was awesome…and our mini vacation to Mt. Hood for a few days in December was great too. Maybe some day I’ll follow through and post pics. Won’t that be nice?

So… painting this weekend. Nothing too extreme, mostly a repaint of the bathroom and then adding some nice dark green accent color. Maybe I’ll get a picture posted when it is all said and done.
EDIT: Pictures up. You can see them at pictures.dustincotton.net

No, not my grandpa’s ankle….my grandpa ankle. That’s right, I’m 25yrs old and have the ankle of a 93yr old man. Well, at least thats what I’m guessing. For those of you who have not found out yet… I fell and sprained my ankle badly during a basketball game a week ago or so. I went to the doctor and they took X-rays and now it is apparent that all my old injuries from high school (repeated twists and sprains) inspired my ankle to do “fun” things. I have a new bone growing out the top of my foot which bangs against my leg (not like *out* of my foot… just growing out of the bone towards the top of my foot) when I try to move my toes up toward my body badly restricting my movement. This is a concern to the orthopedist who thinks my ankle might eventually collapse in on itself if this is left unchecked. It must be removed via surgery. That’s not the best of it though! I told you I had a grandpa ankle. Well…yeah I do. He also thinks one of the bones in my ankle, the talus, is dying or dead! Yow! I’ve never even heard of that happening…much less to someone my age. I had no clue this stuff was going on. A little over a week ago, I was running and jumping and playing basketball without even a brace on my foot. Now I’m restricted to only walking until we know more from an MRI I’m scheduled to have tomorrow morning at 7am.
Wow. I thought I’d let you all know about my grandpa ankle. Hopefully the MRI goes well and gives the doctor all the information he needs to decide the extent of the surgery necessary for my ankle. I’ll let you all know as things progress.
Thanks for your prayers.
